Shane Daniel Robertson

KOLN, GERMANY – Shane Daniel Robertson, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2018, at home in Koln, Germany. Shane was born December 20, 1971, in Pontiac, MI, son of the late Diana Robertson-Bower (Marquette, MI) and Ronald Robertson (Howell, MI)

Shane graduated from Marquette HS and received a BS at NMU. He earned a PH.D in the Philippines and was employed by Ford in Germany.

Shane had a passion for martial arts and world travel, his advanced training and teaching in Cuong Nhu kept him busy no matter where he was.

Shane is survived by his wife, Mela Reth, his aunt, Ramona Kittila, sister, Tabatha Surfass (husband, Michael), brother, Jay Robertson (wife, Jennifer), multiple nieces and nephews including Devin Robertson-Surfass (wife, Kristina) and Rayla Surfass (fiance, Nico Espinosa)

The family encourages his friends to celebrate his unique life with individual get-togethers. Shane impacted people around the world, making it impossible to gather together in one location. He is no longer here with us in body but will forever live on in our hearts…Sensei Shane.

In lieu of expressions of sympathy, donations in Shane’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society to continue the fight against Cancer that directly impacted his family.
