Robert Cochran first fire firefighting, paramedic and E.M.T. when he was in the U.S. Air Force. And was on the Marquette County Search and rescue when he was station at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base. He joined the Marquette Township Fire Department and taught fire fighting classes in Marquette. He retired from the department as assistant fire chief.
