Peter White Public Library hosts new art exhibits

By Journal Staff

MARQUETTE — Peter White Public Library is hosting new art exhibits which collect work from some local artists and organizations.

The exhibits are accessible to the public during PWPL’s normal hours of operation and the current lineup will be in place until the end of May.

The current exhibit lineup includes:

≤ Patterns of Connection by Knot Work Studio, a collection with multiple mediums that encourages an “anti-excellence” mindset, where artists, writers and makers embrace their creative process without the pressure of perfection. Patterns of Connection is held in the Huron Mountain Club Gallery on the main floor.

≤ What Makes You, You? is a multiple medium collection by Artists in Excellence Students, a cross-district program that provides unique art-based extracurricular experiences for students from Negaunee, Marquette, Gwinn and Ishpeming high schools. What Makes You, You? is on display at the Deo Gallery located in the lower level of the PWPL in the city’s Arts & Culture Center; it is supported by the Lake Superior Art Association.

≤ The Annual High School Art Show will be on display for May and will feature a large body of work created by art students enrolled in Negaunee, Marquette, Gwinn and Ishpeming high schools and North Star Academy.
