Fluoride discussion planned
MARQUETTE — From 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, April 24, the Interfaith Water Stewards in partnership with The Cedar Tree Institute will present a public presentation on the controversial issue of fluoride and drinking water.
This event will take place in the sanctuary of Messiah Lutheran Church at 305 W. Magnetic St., in Marquette. Folksinger Michael Waite will frame the evening with music. April Lindala will bring a blessing song from the Native American community. Dave Campana, a pharmacist, and Scott Emerson, a physician, will serve as presenters
The 2024-2025 Water Stewards initiative is an effort to protect the quality of public drinking water resources in the Upper Peninsula. A part of this initiative includes 1,000 cedar trees in Marquette County in the coming months and the support of two village drinking wells, one in Tanzania, the other in Cambodia. The public is invited to this free event. Donations are appreciated, for those interested, to support this interfaith effort.
