Birding: Just the basics
MARQUETTE — If you’re curious about nature and want to learn more about what’s around you, birding is a great skill and a fun hobby.
There are many great reasons to get into birding: it is low-cost; you can bird anywhere, anytime; it’s a rewarding experience to discover something new; and can also be a fun, family activity.
Get the basics of how to choose binoculars, how to use them and what to look for while observing the bird feeders adjacent to the nature center. Learn about using a good field guide and some of the common birds seen around the nature center. Bring your own binoculars or use one of ours. Join us to learn how birding can benefit both people and birds.
Suggest age range: Perfect for teens and adults. To support the nature center, suggested donations are $5/person or $10/family. Registration is not required but appreciated.
The event is 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at MooseWood in Marquette
