MARQUETTE — A commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Peter White Public Library’s Heritage Room.

The purpose of this gathering is to come together to share our memories of the COVID-19 pandemic from its start to now. It is not any sort of celebration and neither is it just about losses suffered. It is a gathering where shared pain is decreased and shared joy is increased.

Music will include “The Star Spangled Banner,” “Ode to Joy” and “Taps” and any other song that people wish to sing. All are welcome. There is no charge to attend.
