Sarah Smart, Onagomingkway Chapter NSDAR chair for Good Citizens, presents Roenak Ghiardi with this year’s Good Citizen Award. Ghiardi is a Senior at Marquette Senior High School and was chosen by staff and peers at the high school for his outstanding academic achievements and extracurricular activities. Ghiardi has worked on the high school newspaper during his time there as well as being involved in theater. His final high school role was that of the Tin Man in the recent production of “The Wizard of Oz.” Duke University is the future destination of Ghiardi with an eye on studying economics. He is the son of Dr. Greg Ghiardi and Dr. Sheetal Acharya. The Onagomingkway Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, offers this national program to over forty high schools in the western half of the Upper Peninsula.
