Courage Inc. to hold fundraiser
NEGAUNEE — Courage Incorporated is holding its third annual community fundraiser from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at Upper Peninsula Brewing Company in Negaunee.
The event is open to the public and tickets are $15/person at the door (kids ages 6 and under are free). The fundraiser will include a dinner, over $7,000 in prize raffles, a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, and more!
Proceeds will go towards helping Courage Incorporated provide free, all-inclusive outdoor excursions for physically disabled individuals and veterans, as well as those living with chronic/terminal illness.
Since 2016, Courage Incorporated has been helping people with different abilities to get into the woods and get on the water. Programs are free for participants and activities include camping, fishing, boating, canoe/kayaking, ice fishing, hiking, outdoor cooking and more.
People with physical disabilities, and those living with chronic or terminal illnesses, make up an under-represented segment of the outdoor recreation community. This is commonly due to lack of resources available to help differently-abled people participate outdoors.
Courage Incorporated provides all of the equipment, food, and manpower needed to help give people with disabilities an outdoor experience they won’t soon forget.
Courage Incorporated is an all-volunteer organization. Funds raised go directly towards programs, equipment, and operations and not towards any salary or wages.
