MARQUETTE — Enforcement of the agreement to improve or demolish the historic Rosewood Inn on South Front Street came to life again Monday with a recommendation from the Downtown Development Authority. The Marquette City Commission agreed to consider the recommendation Feb. 13, when it may decide to ask the city attorney to begin legal enforcement of the January 1991 agreement signed by the Rosewood’s owner. The 106-year-old building has faced the threat of demolition for more than 12 years. An offer by the city to purchase the building from owner Rhys Mussman of Hebron, Ind., was met with what City Manager Dale Iman called an unrealistically high counter-proposal.
