MUNISING — Munising City Commissioner Rod Desjardins has volunteered to serve on a new committee aimed at giving Munising and Alger County law enforcement officials enhanced computer access to suspect and vehicle information. The Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) Committee will meet for the first time in January to study the feasibility of the city and county budgeting to finance a LEIN computer terminal for the county dispatch.

MARQUETTE — Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. McKie are the winners of the grand prize, a $50 savings bond, in the 1964 Christmas residential lighting contest in Marquette. The McKies won the award for their handmade ice-snow sculpture of a Nativity scene. Their outdoor display was lighted of course, in compliance with regulations of the lighting contest. The contest, the 12th annual event, was sponsored jointly by the city of Marquette and the Kiwanis Club.
