Volunteer for the holidays
MARQUETTE — As the holiday season approaches, United Way of Marquete County is calling on community members to share the spirit of giving by volunteering their time to help those in need.
Whether it’s providing meals for families, adopTng a family in need or offering companionship to those who may be isolated, there are countless opportuniTes to make a positve impact this holiday season.
“At United Way of Marquette County, we believe the holidays are a time to come together and support one another. Volunteering can be a meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of others while also enriching your own experience of the season,” said Andrew Rickauer, Executive Director of United Way of Marquette County.
Volunteer opportunities available
This year, United Way of Marquette County, using their volunteer site www.YoopersUnited.com, is offering several ways for individuals, families, and groups to volunteer their time and talents, including:
≤ Holiday Meal service: Help prepare and distribute festive meals at the warming center.
≤ Adopt a family: Provide a special holiday for a local family in need.
≤ Holiday card making for seniors and homeless: use your creative skills and have some fun spreading holiday cheer to those that need it.
Volunteers are needed from now through the end of December and all levels of commitment are welcome.
Whether you can spare an hour, a day, or several weeks, your support will help create a brighter holiday season for those who need it most.
