MSO holiday concerts set
MARQUETTE — This holiday season, the Marquette Symphony Orchestra is embracing the spirit of celebration and community by presenting two performances of its beloved “Sounds of the Holidays” concert, spreading festive cheer across the Upper Peninsula.
The MSO is passionate not only about classical compositions and the artistry of stringed instruments, but also about making music more accessible to residents and surrounding communities. In that spirit, this year’s Sounds of the Holidays will be a truly special event, performed twice–once in the evening and once in a family-friendly matinee.
The first performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec.14 at Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette. Under the direction of guest conductors Erin Colwitz and Matt Ludwig, the MSO will be joined by the Marquette Choral Society and NMU Arts Chorale, creating an unforgettable evening of holiday music. This collaboration between the orchestra and local choral groups will bring the season’s best-loved carols to life, making for an extraordinary musical experience.
Recognizing that a concert of this length might be challenging for some audiences, MSO is offering a second performance at 2 p.m. Dec. 15–a special one-hour matinee ideal for families with young children or anyone who prefers a shorter, more condensed version of the show.
Tickets for both performances are available now, and the MSO encourages attendees to purchase early to ensure seats for this highly anticipated event. Whether you join us for the full-length evening concert or the family-friendly matinee, “Sounds of the Holidays” promises to be a joyful and memorable way to kick off the holiday season.
