100 and counting

Jean Lund Ayotte Baggiore was born on March 26, 1925, in Gwinn. She was an only child and lost her mother when she was 16. Jean always said times were better back then, “We were all poor so we didn’t know it.” At 18, after graduating from Gwinn High School, she moved to Detroit with her best friend and became a Rosie the Riveter in World War II while working at the Willow Run bomber plant. After the war was over, she married Alvin Ayotte, her best friend’s brother. She had three children. Several years after her husband passed away, she married Tio Baggiore. Jean attributes her longevity to good family, lots of friends, a positive outlook on life and a little wine every day. She remains active to this day with her wide circle of family and friends.
