Police subdue would-be robber

MENOMINEE — An arrest was made Wednesday morning during a robbery in progress at the Bay Breeze Inn in Menominee.

“At approximately 7:35 a.m., deputies from the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Bay Breeze Motel … for the report of a robbery in progress involving a male tenant who stated he had a firearm,” said Menominee County Sheriff Darrin Kudwa in a press release.

The deputies quickly subdued the male subject and no firearm was located. The subject has been lodged at the Menominee County Jail pending formal charges.

“Although this incident remains under investigation, the matter is considered resolved,” said Kudwa. “There is no current threat to the public.”

The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Menominee City Police Department and the Menominee County 911.
