Murder-suicide suspected in Little Lake deaths

LITTLE LAKE — A woman and man police found dead in a Little Lake home last week are believed to have died by murder and suicide.

Forsyth Township Police Department officers discovered the bodies of Tory David Chiconsky, 52, and Jamie Lee Foy, 45, while conducting a well-being search at the 1906 First St. residence at noon on Jan. 30.

The couple was involved in an on and off again relationship for several years.

“Although all the exact details leading up to the incident remain unclear, it is believed that this incident was a domestic dispute which turned violent and deadly,” Forsyth Police Chief Brian Kjellin wrote in a press release.

Before taking his own life, it appears Chiconsky stabbed Foy. Autopsies were conducted Friday at the Michigan Institute of Forensic Science & Medicine in Saginaw to determine the official cause of death. Autopsy results including toxicology reports are not expected for about a month.

Michigan State Police Crime Scene Unit Marquette, MSP Detective Unit 8th District, Forsyth Township EMS, Michigan Institute of Forensic Science & Medicine, Marquette County Central Dispatch, Escanaba Public Safety Department and Ishpeming City Police assisted Forsyth Township Police in the investigation.

“The Forsyth Township Police Department would like to extend its deepest condolences to all the family members affected by this tragic event,” Kjellin wrote.

The case was sent to the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
