Protesters began to file in on Wednesday just before noon along Washington Street in downtown Marquette. Protests were planned across the U.S. on Wednesday. The movement organized around the hashtags #buildtheresistance and #50501, which stands for 50 protests, 50 states, one day. Flyers circulating online for the protests decry Project 2025, a hard-right playbook for American government and society.
