Barking back with a vengeance
After a two-year hiatus due to lack of snow, the UP200 dog sled race came barking back with a vengeance Friday evening as teams prepared to take off from the starting line on Washington Street in downtown Marquette. The 228-mile wilderness adventure will bring the dogs and their mushers to Grand Marais and back again. The teams will cross the finish line at the Ojibwa Casino in Harvey sometime on Sunday.
