MARQUETTE — 36-year-old Megan Quattrin of Marquette has been arrested on charges of resisting and obstructing a police officer.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, a Negaunee Post Michigan State Police trooper located the suspect and a reported stolen vehicle in the TJ Maxx parking lot. MSP had been investigating the reported stolen vehicle out of Alger County and had identified the suspect in the case.

Upon approaching the vehicle and suspect, the trooper saw Quattrin exit the vehicle and attempt to walk away. Quattrin continued walking towards the store despite the trooper’s multiple verbal commands to stop, refusing to comply. She then re-approached the vehicle and attempted to re-enter the driver’s seat.

The trooper prevented Quattrin from entering the vehicle and began placing her under arrest. Quattrin physically resisted the trooper, and was then secured and placed under arrest. She was then transported to and lodged at the Marquette County Jail on charges of resisting and obstructing a police officer.

Quattrin was arraigned in the 96th District Court on Monday, and her bond was set at $500. She is due in court next on Jan. 23.

The related case involving the motor vehicle theft is being referred to the Marquette County Prosecutor for review.
