Negaunee man arrested for third drugged driving offense, posession of methamphetamine
MARQUETTE — A Negaunee man has been arrested for operating under the influence of drugs- third offense, possession of methamphetamine and driving while his license was suspended.
A Michigan State Police trooper from the Negaunee post was on patrol Monday when he witnessed a traffic violation committed by a driver traveling on Midway Drive near U.S. 41 in Negaunee Township. During the stop, the officer noticed the male driver switching seats with a female passenger in an attempt to hide that he had been the one operating the vehicle.
A subsequent investigation found that the man was Derrick Cram, 35, who had been driving the vehicle with a suspended license.
Cram was found to have been driving under the influence of drugs and was in possession of methamphetamine.
Cram was arrested and lodged in the Marquette County Jail. Cram has been arraigned in 96th District Court and had his bond set at $25,000. He is due in court Thursday.
