NEGAUNEE — As February arrives in the Upper Peninsula, it’s always a good idea to find out who’s coming to sauna. Heikki Lunta, of course.

The Heikki Lunta Winter Festival is slated to be held from Feb. 7-9 with events all over Negaunee.

“This is a three-day event that is full of fun for all ages,” said Negaunee City Manager Nate Heffron. “If you’re a fan of winter sports, whether participating or spectating, this is the place to be in Marquette County. Don’t get stuck in your winter rut, come forge your adventures in Negaunee.”

There are several new features to the festival this year, including the Meijer Winter State Games opening ceremony event, the cauldron lighting, luging, an open house and cudighi dinner fundraiser at the Negaunee Elks Lodge, a variety of trivia events and live music, a weekend-long hockey tournament and much more.
