Ball Drop Bash block party draws thousands to downtown Marquette
MARQUETTE — The New Year’s Eve Ball Drop Bash lit up the 100 block of West Washington Street on Tuesday night, providing an electric atmosphere to help ring in the new year.
Hosted by Double Trouble Entertainment, the dancing, music, laser lights and live countdown of the Ball Drop Bash helped folks joyfully celebrate the beginning of 2025.
Some festivities also took place earlier in the day, with a few businesses offering certain New Years specials. Digs Street Food and Spirits served up pickle-brined fried chicken and chambongs, while the Delft Bistro hosted live jazz performances, cocktails and snacks.
The annual block party is one of Marquette’s biggest events, and this year was no different as hundreds of both Marquette County residents and out-of-town visitors came to witness the ball drop.
“It’s really fun to spend New Years Eve in Marquette,” said Kinsey LaFernier, who had traveled from out of town to meet friends for the holiday. “Seeing a community come together to enjoy themselves and have a good time is always nice to see.”
