Winter Lights Fest set

MARQUETTE — The city of Marquette announces its Winter Light Festival, running throughout December.

The month-long celebration will fill the holiday season with light, art and community events for all. A highlight is oscillation, a new interactive art installation to be located at the Marquette Commons that combines light, sound and movement, offering a unique, engaging experience.

Other partner-hosted attractions include the holiday laser light show on the ore dock, downtown district lights, a downtown holiday parade, city tree lighting, the Downtown Farmers Market’s new Yule Market, and many other events.

Area residents are invited to add their own winter light-inspired events to the festival lineup by submitting them on MQTcompass.com.

The Winter Light Festival is presented by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority, Travel Marquette and the city of Marquette.

Oscillation is brought to Marquette by the Marquette Public Art Commission with support from Travel Marquette and the Marquette Downtown Development Authority.

Oscillation was created by the Urban Conga and tour produced by Creos. For more information, visit www.mqtcompass.com/winterlightfestival.

Starting at $4.62/week.
