NEGAUNEE — A man was injured in a Friday crash in the city of Negaunee.

The Negaunee Police Department said in a news release that at 5:05 p.m., it was dispatched to a traffic crash at the intersection of Silver and Iron streets. The crash involved a Dodge Ram pickup and a moped.

The Ram was driven by a 77-year-old woman who was headed southbound on Silver Street whgen the moped, driven by a 41-year-old male, ran a stop sign on Iron Street and was struck by the Ram.

The driver of the moped, fell from the vehicle onto the roadway, received injuries and was transported to UP Health System-Marquette for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.

The NPD was assisted by the Negaunee City Fire Department, Ishpeming Police Department, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, UPHS-Bell EMS and Anttila’s Towing.
