State police captain placed on administrative leave
MARQUETTE — Michigan State Police Capt. Clint Michelin has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, MSP confirmed on Tuesday.
Lt. Mark Giannunzio, assistant post commander with the MSP Negaunee Post and MSP Eighth District public information officer, said Michelin has not been charged with any crimes.
Giannunzio did not provide details of the allegation regarding Michelin, who was placed on administrative leave last week.
Michelin is commander of the Eighth District, which is stationed in Marquette.
Giannunzio said administrative leave is common when an allegation is made so the MSP has time to investigate details.
