Concert held at Manistique library

MANISTIQUE – Music fans can set sail for a concert from baritone Roger Chard and concert pianist Maurita Peterson Holland featuring songs of the sea and love.

The musicians will offer their third annual concert to benefit the Lake Effect Community Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Manistique Public Library.

Chard said the program is an eclectic one featuring music that celebrates love of the sea and the sea of love.

Holland said the duo is dedicating its performance to the memory of the crew of the SS Carl D. Bradley which sank approximately 25 miles off the shore of Manistique on Nov. 18, 1958, and as a celebration in honor of Manistique’s newly dedicated Bradley Memorial Park along East U.S. 2.

An artists’ reception will follow the concert. Tickets are $15 per person and are available at the Lake Effect Art Gallery at Traders Point and the Mustard Seed on South Cedar Street. Non-residents may contact Giannine Perigo at -906-283-3431 or gperigo@uplogon.com to make arrangements for will-call tickets.
