West End Update – City of Negaunee

Negaunee business well positioned

As most of my readers know, I typically write to promote Negaunee. I am always grateful for and, I think, knowledgeable, about the things I write about. In general, my topics are local businesses. Some may have just opened or have been open for a while – they are hidden gems that make our community special.

This next business is one of those hidden gems.

However – full disclosure – I’m not a parent, nor have I really ever discussed pregnancy with anyone who has been pregnant, is pregnant, or wants to be. The last thing I want to do is come off as one of those guys who “mansplains” things that I have no first hand knowledge of.

In fact I have to admit this very important topic is a little out of my comfort zone.

I had the pleasure of meeting Chloe VanLente, who you may remember from her former location near the Grand Effex Salon. Just recently she moved into what locals call the Negaunee Mall at 211 Iron Street. She changed locations in order to increase and expand service offerings for her clients. The name of her business – Chloe’s Healing Arts – says it all.

Chloe offers holistic services like bodywork for women. If you’re not familiar with bodywork, it uses therapeutic techniques that involve the healing manipulation of the body in order to promote health and well-being.

Massage therapy and chiropractic care are two other treatments that Chloe uses to help address any physical and emotional imbalances a woman might have. The hope is that one or number of these techniques can help realign the body, help to relieve pain, reduce stress, and improve overall function.

Chloe is a Marquette native who now lives in Negaunee with her husband and three sons. She earned a Bachelor of Science: Sociology of Liberal Arts with a minor in Anthropology from NMU in 2012. In addition, she holds a certificate in massage therapy from the Institute of Natural Therapies. Her website includes many accreditations, just a few includes Infant Massage Education, Craniosacral Therapy, Abdominal and Pelvic Therapy, and Yoga for core and pelvic floor health.

The therapeutic bodywork services offered by Chloe’s Healing Arts address many phases in the lives of her clients. Some of these phases include women who don’t want children but have abdominal or pelvic pain, preconception consultation, pregnancy and breached babies coaching, postpartum bodywork and nervous system regulation. Chloe also specializes in infant bodywork addressing belly issues, acid reflux, feeding issues breastfeeding and bottle feeding. You can learn more about Chloe’s services online at www.chloeshealingarts.com, here you will find a list of services, credentials, and some personal stories from satisfied clients.

Chloe says one of her goals is to “assist making pregnancy a positive journey versus a negative experience.” She finds satisfaction in her work because helping other women is her passion. An appointment is required in order to take advantage of the services Chloe has to offer.

Hopefully I have adequately introduced this wonderful business in Downtown Negaunee. It provides essential and critical services to women in our community and potentially the whole of the Upper Peninsula.

Services that promote the health and well-being being of women are few and far between in our area as of late. Though I am not a parent, and have no first hand understanding the pregnancy experience, I recognize that our community must have access to services like this! We must also be willing to promote and attract these critical services for our current and future mothers and women as a whole.

I hope you will check out Chloe’s services and spread the word. Helping women and parents forge positive journeys in their lives is noble passion and profession. The City of Negaunee can only be made stronger though passions like Chloe’s
