Future Historians put on living history day camp

Earlier this month, 50 students from the Michigan Iron Industry Museum's Future Historians youth group brought the past to life for visitors at Historic Fort Wilkins State Park. Participants in the living history day camp included: Seated from left, Brooke Doughty, Timothy Ziegler, Charissa Ward, Alex Prusi, Grace Laurin, Gunnar Johnson, Matthew Janowski and Elli Paulson; middle row from left, Allie Johnson, Emily Major, Kate Peterson, Aubreanna Servant, Amanda Matznick, Anna Beckstrom, Becca Ivey, Brooke Johnson, and Anna Janowski; and back row from left, Thomas Ziegler, Elliot Prusi, Anna Major, Julia Janowski, Megan Goupil, Sally Major, Jamison Trombley and Scott Peterson. Since 1990, volunteers from the group learn about 19th Century chores, etiquette, pastimes and more, and then travel to Copper Harbor to portray children who lived at or near the 1870 army post.
