ISHPEMING - Due to the first phase of the Partridge Creek project in downtown Ishpeming wrapping up, a new detour has been planned for traffic.
The first phase of the Partridge Creek project construction shut down the Greenwood, Lakeshore, Hematite and Division intersection. The intersection was returned to gravel Wednesday, allowing traffic to once again begin traveling through the intersection, according to a press release.
Construction will continue, however, on Division Street between Superior and Pine streets for several more weeks. Motorists can also expect intermittent delays through the intersection for paving and miscellaneous restoration.
Now that the intersection will be reopened to traffic, the phase one detour, using Second Street and Third Street to bypass Division Street, will be removed and the phase two detour will be installed. The phase two detour allows traffic to bypass Division Street between Pine Street and Greenwood Street using Hematite Drive and First Street.
