MARQUETTE - The Albert and James Lyon Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War bi-monthly meeting will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the basement board room of the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette. The SUVCW is the successor organization of the Grand Army of the Republic and exists to perpetuate the memory of those who saved the Union. It is comprised of descendants of Union veterans and those interested in the Civil War.
The meeting will include a book review by Paul Silver of Dr. Vernette Carlson's recent book, "Accounting for the Civil War," as well as planning for summer activities. For more information, visit www.suvcwmil.org.
