CHAMPION - A pair of Dickinson County golfers not only won medalist honors, but led their teams to victories at the Mid-Peninsula Conference high school golf meet held Thursday at Wawonowin Country Club.

Playing in blustery conditions with a few snow flurries reportedly blowing sideways, Austin Hansen of Norway shot 79 to beat out a pair of Negaunee golfers by four strokes and lead the Knights to the team title.

Norway shot 344 to 352 for the runner-up Miners, who got 83s out of junior David Renaldi and senior Andrew Katona. Those three top golfers plus Norway's Justin Anderson, who shot 84 Thursday, and teammate Bryce Kelly (86) were named to the All-M-PC boys first team.
