To the Journal editor:
Smaller government the rallying cry of the tea partiers, no compromise from their political leadership in Washington is showing its effect in every day lives.
Smaller government has arrived in the guise of the sequester. Money for federal government services has been cut. Now that the country has gotten a taste of smaller government, the complaints are beginning to arise.
Furloughed air traffic controllers, travelers faced with longer lines at the airports. Head Start has to limit the number of children it can serve.
Military health benefits are likely to be affected. Active duty military training has been reduced. FBI agents may be furlowed, and that is only the beginning.
Is this what we want as a nation?
