The Mining Journal

The Onagomingkway Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution recently made a donation to the U.P Honor Flight program. Shown at the presentation are, front from left, DAR chapter member Karen Wertanen, chapter Regent Cheryl Lewis-Strong and U.P. Honor Flight organizer Barb Van Rooy; and, back row from left, DAR chapter Registrar Sherrye Woodworth, member JoAnn Caynak-Beauchamp and Vice-Regent Vicki Mann. The Honor Flight arranges trips for veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the World War II Memorial. The next U.P. Honor Flight is scheduled for May.
