HARVEY, Mich. - Terrence Allen Treloar, age 52, of 232 Silver Creek Road, Lot 7, Harvey, entered eternal life Monday afternoon, March 18, 2013, at his home, in the loving, comforting care of his family and the caregivers of Lake Superior Hospice.
Born November 27, 1960 in Ishpeming, Terry was raised mostly in Marquette and received his GED from the Marquette Senior High School. For most of his life, he was troubled by a back injury he received as a child, but managed to work at a number of employments, without a word of complaint despite being in almost constant pain. Terry's employments included being a courier for the former First National Bank and Trust Company in Marquette, working in security while residing for a time in California and Texas, and then residing in Sault Ste Marie for 22 years where he helped open the first Gordon Foods and helped clean planes at the Kinross Airport. He was also self-employed as a painter and installer of dry wall and carpeting. He moved back to Marquette when his disability increased. Terry loved the great outdoors and all that nature had to offer. He enjoyed gardening, loved animals, and especially looked forward to the Fall Season and taking rides to look at the fall colors. A talented cook, Terry was fascinated with antiques, loved watching cartoons, and played the guitar and harmonica. Another hobby, although often more through necessity than pleasure, was working on cars and throughout the years he gained a lot of experience. Terry treasured his family and friends and nothing was better than get-togethers around a bonfire, having a few brews with friends.
Terry's survivors include his loving companion of 23 years, and caregiver for the last year, Margie Mattis; his parents, Carl and Rachel Walin of Harvey; mother-in-law, Aurora Mattis of Big Bay; sisters, Bonnie Smith, Michelle (Troy) DeRoche, and Beverly Walin all of Marquette, Annie Williams of Harvey, and Julie (Bob) Pegeneau of Ishpeming; brothers, Steve Treloar, Billy Walin, and Fred (Raya Bouschor) Williams of Marquette, and Carl (Cindy) Walin of Ishpeming; aunt and uncle, Ruth and Steve Hillman and uncle, Donald Rautio of Humboldt; and several nieces and nephews.
