News in recent days that the Chinese government is engaged in what amounts to an all-out war against many computer systems in this country should worry everyone.
Although this Internet war, so to speak, has been waged for years by a wide variety of countries against specific business computer systems in the U.S., it's the Chinese, according to new information released recently, that have taken the entire process to another level.
For better or for worse, the U.S. has become dependent on its computers to do all kinds of important things, like control the nation's power grid, take off and land aircraft and run the military. And, of course, the business and finance world live on the Net.
It's unclear, beyond improving its cyber defenses, what the U.S. can do. Let's all hope that happens, and soon.
