MARQUETTE - Superiorland high school swim/dive teams have placed seven girls and seven boys on this year's All-Upper Peninsula squads.
Marquette Senior High School's senior trio of Katy Beckstrom, Paige Gilbert and Gwen Hoenke have been selected in voting by U.P. coaches, along with MSHS sophomores Logan Vear and Janelle Carroll.
Beckstrom claimed U.P. titles in the 200-yard freestyle and 100 breaststroke this season.
On the boys' side, peninsula champion in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke- Nathan Rotundo - has been selected.
Senior teammates Luke Sides, Michael Edwards and Grant Rydholm (diver), sophomore Colin McCommons and freshman Sam Williams also gained berths on the honor squad.
The Westwood Patriots of head coach Milton Braga picked up three spots as All-U.P. female divers. Mya Maanika, a junior and peninsula champ, made the grade, as well as teammates Gabrielle French, a junior, and freshman Jesse Olander.
Junior Ricky Peterson, the 100 backstroke U.P. titlist from Ishpeming-Negaunee, made the boys' team.
