Vanderschaaf qualifies for YMCA state swim meet

WAUSAU, Wis. - Swimmer Erin Vanderschaaf, 9, of the Marquette County Killer Whales, qualified for the YMCA state championship meet in the 200-yard IM and 200 freestyle at the Wausau (Wis.) Icerberg Invitational.

She posted a time of 3:00.73 in the 200 IM and a 2:35.98 in the 200 free. She improved by 13.10 seconds in the IM and 6.7 in the freestyle to make the state cuts.

Vanderschaaf medaled in the 200 free.

The Killer Whales' Samantha Olson, 11, won the 200 butterfly (3:10.56) at the meet.

Also medaling for the YMCA swim team was Archer Olson, 8, (25 free, 50 backstroke, 25 backstroke).
