MARQUETTE - The Marquette Police Cadets Squirt B youth hockey team won all five of its games to capture the Jim Elenbaas Challenge Cup tournament held in Cheboygan on Jan. 26-27.
Marquette opened with a 5-0 win over host Cheboygan Werner Plumbing as Jack Burzynski scored a three-goal hat trick, with teammates Tommy Blemberg and Chase Bourdeau each adding one.
Zane Phillips posted his second straight shutout as the Cadets blanked Saginaw PC&I Security and Tech 2-0. Burzynski and Julian Greason notched goals and among those getting assists were Tye Parker and Ben Gostomski.

Then came a 6-3 win over the St. Clair Shores Bruins as Burzynski and Bourdeau each scored twice, and Austin Ridl and Chase Seger adding one goal apiece. Among those credited with assists were Talon Bohn and Colin Bradley.
In a 4-2 win over the Flint Icelanders, the Cadets got goals from Burzynski, Ridl, Bourdeau and Bradley.
In the championship game, a 2-1 victory against the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, ScotiaBank Hawks, both goals were scored by Ridl with assists going to Blemberg and Bradley.
