Julie was an avid baker and culinary expert who loved to cook and entertain. She shared her gift through her own cookbook, "Once Upon A Table." But her true love and joy was her family.

She was an active member of St. Michael and All Angels' Episcopal Church, Past President of the Women of the Church, Alter Guild member, Sunday School teacher and Girl Scout Troop leader. She was also Past President of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. Julie was a 19-year cancer survivor, but more importantly a unique individual whose generosity of heart and energetic spirit touched so many.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels' Episcopal Church, 6408 Bridgewood Rd, Columbia, SC 29206, with the family receiving friends at a reception in Sturtevant Hall immediately following. There will be a private burial for the family.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael and All Angels' Foundation or any charity of one's choice. Memories and condolences may be added to the online guestbook at ShivesFuneralHome.com.
