Hockey Central goes 2-1

MARQUETTE - The Marquette Hockey Central Pee Wee B squad wrapped up a weekend of games Jan. 26-28 with a 2-1 record.

Hockey Central fell to Negaunee Iron Range, 4-3. Gaetano Cammarata had a goal and assist, while Jon Jason and Karsten Kamps scored goals. Adding assists were Brendan McCoy with two and Collin Fure with one.

Scoring for Negaunee were Chad Pohlman and Hayden Mann, each with two goals.

Collecting assists were Colin Bjorne and Hudson Uren with two each, and Nathan Ostland and Hunter Johnson-Duquette with one apiece.

Negaunee's Nolan Corwin made 15 saves and HC's Soren Higgins had 11.

Hockey Central defeated Marquette McDonald's, 4-2, behind two goals and an assist from Fure.

Kamps added a tally and two helpers, Jason chipped in a goal, and Tim Muladore and McCoy recorded assists.

McDonald's Elliot Samppala and Holden Shaneberger had goals and Sterling Wright and Hunter Whitaker assists.

Higgins made nine saves and McDonald's Braden Golisek has 27 stops.

Hockey Central edged Marquette Superiorland Kiwanis, 6-5. Jason had a goal and three assists, while McCoy and Cammarata had two each and Russ Modell one.

Fure and Kamps each had two assists with Braedyn Locke adding one.

Kiwanis' Ryan Houle had a hat trick and Joey Elmhirst added two goals. Two assists went to Cross Lakenen and Peyton Anderson while Parker Hirvonen and Jaden Lessard with one apiece.

Higgins made 20 saves while Kiwanis' Kyle Michelson made 17 stops in the loss.
