SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Elizabeth Eleanor Brown, 88, entered into eternal life at Freighterview Assisted Living in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on Monday, January 21, 2013, surrounded by her loving family and under the loving care of Hospice of the Eastern Upper Peninsula and the caring staff of Freighterview Assisted Living.
Elizabeth was born on July 5, 1924.
Elizabeth is survived by her five children, Tom (Susan) Brown, Robert "Buck" (Doreen) Brown, Janet (Harold) Vollick, Marilyn (Gar) Sillers all of Sault Ste. Marie and Susan (Michael) Andary of Marquette. She is survived by her loving grandchildren: Lisa (Vollick ) Cryderman, Abby ( Sillers ) and Shane Christensen, James Vollick, Tommy and Emily Brown, Bob and Teresa Sillers, Jeanine (Brown) and J.C. Sherman all of Sault Ste. Marie and Jason Andary of Marquette along with eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her Sister, Vivian (Earl) Riordan and Sister-in-law Ruth (Warren) Benson of Sault Ste. Marie along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Brown, infant daughter Barbara Jean, parents Russell and Erma Stonehouse, sister and brother in law Marge and Bob Brownlee of L'Anse, Michigan and niece Kay (Benson) Wolfe.
A celebration of Elizabeth's life was held on Thursday, January 21 at The Central United Methodist Church from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. where family greeted friends and relatives and the funeral service was held at 4:00pm.
