GWINN - Strong defense and balanced scoring led the Gwinn High School boys basketball team to a 75-47 non-conference win over visiting Houghton Saturday.

The Model Towners (8-3) limited the Gremlins (6-2) to just 33 shots from the field.

"It was defense the whole way," GHS head coach Darren Sinnaeve said. "And our offense came off our defense. Everyone was involved in transition."

Justin Nyquist paced Gwinn with 19 points. Derek Reetz and Owen DeVooght added 11 each, while Luke Sinnaeve contributed 10.

Trent Keteri and Zack Ohtonen tossed in 15 points apiece for Houghton.
