Owner injured in Forsyth house fire

LITTLE LAKE - A Forsyth Township homeowner suffered minor injuries Thursday night in a fire at his residence, located along Marquette County Road 545 South.

Michigan State Police troopers from the Negaunee Regional Post said the homeowner called authorities to report his house was on fire and he was the only person in the residence. The incident was reported at 6:30 p.m.

Firefighters from Forsyth Township and Skandia-West Branch townships responded to the fire. Police said crews remained at the blaze until almost midnight. They were recalled to the residence when flames erupted from the house at about 4 a.m., police said.

No information was available on the cause of the blaze.

Fire officials from Forsyth Township were unavailable for comment before press time.
