3 area residents appointed to museum board

MARQUETTE - Gov. Rick Snyder made three appointments this week to the Michigan Iron Industry Museum Advisory Board.

The appointees include Amy Clickner and Jennifer Huetter of Negaunee and Susan Hornbogen of Marquette.

Housed within the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the nine-member board advises the department on policies, plans and programs concerning the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee Township. It also supports education programs and public use of the facility.

"I am confident these Michiganders will do good work on behalf of the museum and the people of the Great Lakes state," Snyder said.

Clickner is chief executive officer of the Lake Superior Community Partnership, where she has worked since 1998. She previously served as manager of customer care and marketing for Superior Spectrum.

Clickner has an associate degree in office administration from Ferris State University and a bachelor's degree in office administration/management from Northern Michigan University. She will represent the city of Negaunee and replaces Don Mourand.

Hornbogen is office manager for North Country Engineering Inc., where she has worked since 2008. She previously served as a teacher and substitute teacher for Marquette Area Public Schools.

Hornbogen received a bachelor's degree English from NMU and will represent the general public, replacing James Dellies.

Huetter has been the Michigan district manager of public affairs for Cliffs Natural Resources since 2011. She previously served as creative services producer and associate director of creative services for WLUC-TV6. Huetter as a bachelor's degree in public relations/marketing from NMU and will represent Negaunee Township and replaces Peter Kotila.

Appointees will serve four-year terms that expire Oct. 4, 2016.
