Utilities assist school

Maryalice Boone, AuTrain-Onota School District administrator, receives a check from Brett Niemi, energy services representative with WPPI Energy and the Alger Delta Cooperative Electric Association. WPPI and Alger Delta provided $9,264 and technical assistance for completion of an energy efficiency lighting upgrade at the school, as well as $800 in rebates from the utility's Energy Optimization program. The school expects to reduce operating costs by $1,700 per year with the new efficient lights that were installed by BAJ Electric located in Chatham.
