EBEN - There's always a high-pressure system over Eben when the Superior Central girls basketball team plays.

That high pressure is the Cougars defense that delivered the team its seventh straight-win, a 68-20 victory over Alger County rival Munising on Thursday night.

"We pressed in the first half, then we changed defenses, going back and forth after that," SC coach Greg Trowbridge said.

It gave the Cougars, now 5-0 in the Central Upper Peninsula Conference, a 16-7 lead after one quarter and 40-13 advantage at halftime. Munising was unable to score a single point in the fourth quarter.

Juniors led the way for SC, with Brooke Pasanen scoring 22 points, Teslyn Tyner adding 15 points and eight steals, and Vanessa Freberg 13 points and six steals. Senior Lindsey Richmond hauled in a team-best nine rebounds.

Senior Katie Immel paced Munising (4-3, 1-3) with nine points.

The Mustangs won the JV game, 46-24.
