MARQUETTE - The Northern Michigan University women's volleyball team will have an open tryout for remaining roster positions for the 2013 season.
The tryout will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Vandament Arena.
Registration will be held from 11-11:45 a.m. The tryout will follow from noon-2 p.m. and will consist of the following: overall skill and technique assessment, strength and conditioning assessment and understanding of game play.
Individuals interested in the tryout must meet the criteria of a high school senior on track to graduate in May or June who has exhausted high school eligibility, a junior college transfer or a four-year transfer who has a release from their current university.
Participants must bring to the tryout all necessary volleyball equipment to compete (shoes, knee pads, ankle braces, athletic apparel, etc.).
