MARQUETTE - The Northern Michigan University men's basketball team will attempt to snap a six-game losing streak in Ohio against a pair of GLIAC South opponents, starting at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday against Ohio Dominican in Columbus.
The Wildcats, whose only win this year is against Finlandia, close out the semester on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Tiffin.
Northern (1-6 overall, 0-4 in GLIAC) is coming off a pair of losses to Hillsdale and Findlay in Marquette, with the loss to the Oilers a week ago from today resulting in head coach Doug Lewis banning his team from its own locker room.
Junior forward Matthew Craggs leads the 'Cats in scoring, averaging 13 points in seven starts. Craggs and sophomore forward Kendall Jackson lead NMU in rebounding, each averaging 5.6 a game. Senior forward TJ Cameron is fourth in the GLIAC in three-point percentage at 55 percent.
Ohio Dominican (3-6 overall, 0-5 in GLIAC) is also searching for its first win in GLIAC play and is on a five-game losing streak.
ODU is led by Morgan Jones, who averages 16.7 points a game. Bobby Stauffer and John Trew each average seven rebounds per game.
Tiffin (3-5 overall, 1-3 in GLIAC) hosts Tech today before hosting NMU on Tuesday. The Dragons are led by Joe Graessle, who is second in the GLIAC in scoring, averaging 23.3 points in eight starts. Eric Roby is also in double figures averaging 10 points a game. Mike Boan leads in rebounds, averaging seven a game.
