SAULT STE. MARIE - Northern Michigan University freshman goaltender Michael Doan of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario stopped all 15 of the shots he faced in the third period on Friday night against Lake Superior State at Taffy Abel Arena.

The damage had already been done, however, as the Lakers posted three goals on Wildcat junior netminder Jared Coreau before he was pulled in a 3-0 NMU loss in CCHA play.

The Wildcats (6-9-3 overall, 2-8-3 in CCHA), who have now been shutout three times in 18 games, and Lakers (9-10-0, 6-7-0) meet again at 7:05 p.m. today in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan.

Coreau gave up two power play goals to the Lakers' Kellan Lain and Stephen Perfetto before the even-strength goal by Buddy Robinson 13:20 into the second period ended Coreau's night. He finished with 18 saves.

NMU, which was 0 for 5 on the power play, was outshot by the Lakers 36-29 and 15-6 in the third period.LSSU junior Kevin Kalpalka finished with 29 saves for the Lakers.

Perfetto, Robinson and Lain all finished the night with an assist as well for two-point nights.

Note: Friday's game was delayed in the first period by almost 30 minutes after a check by NMU sophomore Reed Seckel shattered a piece of glass at Taffey Abel Arena.
