HOUGHTON - Michigan Tech held Hillsdale to 18 second-half points to defeat the Chargers 78-65 in a GLIAC women's basketball game played in Houghton on Saturday.
The Chargers shot just 17 percent (5 of 30) from the field in the second half.
The Huskies, now 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the GLIAC North Division, trailed 47-44 at halftime before putting the clamps down defensively.
Huskies junior Paige Albi posted a career-high for the second straight game by scoring a team-high 14 points. Junior teammate Taylor Stippel made all six shots from the field to finish with 13 points.
Senior Emma Veach and junior Kelcey Traynoff each chipped in 10. Sophomore Jillian Ritchie came up one point shy of a double-double finishing with nine points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
