NEGAUNEE, MI. - Beverly Marie Koski, 77, formerly of 96 Croix Street, Negaunee, died at 12:54 a.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Mather Nursing Center where she had been a patient since November 23rd.
Beverly was born May 8, 1935 in Negaunee to William E. and Taimi E. (Walimaa) Heikkila, and was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1953. She married Leo J. Koski on June 19th, 1953 and they lived in Negaunee Township with their family until moving to Horseshoe Lake in Forsyth Township.
Mrs. Koski was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Negaunee. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and gardening, but most of all, loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Scott (Patricia) Koski of Marquette; 2 daughters: Nita (Robert) Thomas of Negaunee and Julie Priebe of Ishpeming; 8 grandchildren: Staci Peterson, Tori (Ben) Sager, Kyle Koski, Amy (Travis) VanAlstine, Jeramie (Susan) Soderberg, Jason (Kendall) Soderberg, Jennifer (David) Emard, and Ann (Stephan) Valenti; 21 great-grandchildren; her brother, Donald (Susan) Larson of Negaunee; 2 step-granddaughters: Kenna and Danielle Thomas, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leo on May 9, 2002, and her sister Nancy Feiling in 2011.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday at the Koskey Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Solberg, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 noon at the funeral home on Tuesday, and also at a luncheon following the service at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
